Ukraine's real GDP increased by 0.8% in June 2026 compared to the same month last year. The main sectors supporting the economy include agriculture, trade, and industry, while energy and transport remain under pressure. In the second quarter of 2026, real GDP growth is estimated at 0.6%. The GDP growth estimate for May was revised down from 0.9% to 0.3%. In June, there was a decline in the energy and transport sectors, with electricity production and gas distribution decreasing by 7%. At the end of June, electricity demand rose due to the heat, leading to a shortage in the energy system. The decline in transport slowed to 5% due to a low base from the previous year, but the sector continues to suffer from attacks. Since the beginning of the year, over 1,500 strike drones have been launched at Ukrainian ports, and the number of attacks on port infrastructure has increased more than tenfold compared to 2025. Agriculture showed the highest growth in June at 9%, attributed to the early start of the grain harvest. Real added value in trade increased by 5%, while in the mining and manufacturing industries, it rose by 4% and 2.3%, respectively. In the first quarter of 2026, real GDP decreased by 0.6% compared to the same period last year.
