Short Selling Expert Kuadir Discovers Undervalued Korean Companies
Pami Kuadir has chosen the Korean stock market as her next investment destination. According to the Wall Street Journal on the 17th, Kuadir stated that she is looking for undervalued Korean companies. She mentioned that there are many 'hidden gems' in the Korean stock market, pointing out that more than two-thirds of companies listed on the KOSPI are still trading below their book value. Kuadir believes that now is the optimal time for new investments, given the launch of the Korean government's 'Corporate Value-Up Program,' which is designed to include stock indices that focus on tax benefits and shareholder returns, expecting it to synergize with her strategy. She sees opportunities to improve corporate governance internally to boost stock prices, initially targeting small and mid-cap companies. Kuadir plans to push for changes such as ensuring the independence of boards and audits, as well as advocating for share buybacks and cancellations. Having worked as a short-selling expert for ten years, she has earned the nickname 'The Assassin' and is known for her short-selling bets against negative corporate models while running Safket Capital.
