FIFA World Cup Revenue Expected to Reach $15 Billion
FIFA expects the total revenue from this year's World Cup, held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, to reach $15 billion, significantly higher than the previous estimate of $11 billion. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has communicated this data to the member associations. The high revenue for this event comes from hospitality services and ticket sales, with FIFA not regulating the pricing in the official secondary market and charging a 15% fee to both buyers and sellers for each ticket. In comparison, the total revenue for the 2022 Qatar World Cup was $5.769 billion, featuring 32 teams and 64 matches, while this year's event has expanded to 48 teams and 104 matches.
