Citi: The total circulating supply of stablecoins may increase to $1.6-3.7 trillion by 2030
Odaily News Citigroup predicts that the total circulating supply of stablecoins may grow to US$1.6 trillion to US$3.7 trillion under different scenarios in 2030. It is expected that the supply of stablecoins will still be mainly denominated in US dollars (about 90%), while non-US countries will promote the development of their own CBDCs.
“While there is long-term potential, the opportunity remains in its early stages with limited visibility around timing and end-user adoption,” Citi analysts wrote in a recent report. (Ledge Insights)
